This is one issue that really affects me personally,, unlike the war, gay marriage, etc." Unfortunately, war, gay marriage . . . it's all related as Bush policy . . . reelection was accomplished by making moral issues seem to be in jeopardy, the heartland responded by making sure Bush had four more years to get Supreme Court justices in place to maintain the Republican agenda. Not since the Crusades have religion and politics been so hard to tell apart. We can rant and rave about the injustice of not moving forward with stem cell research, but somehow, we did not clarify the issues sufficiently enough to make a dent in the support Bush received in the polls. Huge, gas guzzling SUV's sport "Support the Troops" stickers and magnets . . . how much more compartmentalized can the drivers of these vehicles get?
