Wether one should start taking medication is a matter of Quality of Life. If
one is just uneasy with PD then you should not take medication yet, except
for neuroprotective medication. If your neurologist presribes you a
neuroprotective you better take it because it can postpone taking other
medication with side-effects.

When one is bothered by the symptoms of PD, and I mean really bothered
(falling or other), then the damage caused by the symptoms can be worse then
the side effects of the medication. That is probably the right moment to
start medication (unless you like falling).

One should have a good neurologist that understands the problems of the
patients. Make a list of symptoms and questions and make a copy of the list.
Take one for your self and give the other to the neurologist. You can check
both the points you have discussed. If you can't make notes yourself, take
somebody who can make notes for you, or take your laptop.

If your quality of life is in danger you should consider taking medication;
your neurologist can together with you, decide what medication you should
take. Often it is a try-and-error method to find the right medicin for you.

What is quality of life ? You don't ask that; you know it for yourself !
