The rate of infection for DBS appears to be around 2-3% on average, and when it occurs the hardware almost always has to be totally or partially removed. We have heard numerous stories of people who had the surgery repeated after their infections were treated and the second surgery was successful. We pray the same for you, Winnie. Best wishes.
