Jo Ann -- Another important thing to remember is that each individual works through grief at his or her own pace. There isn't any particular length of time for the grieving process although getting stuck in a particular stage or not getting to the acceptance stage is problematic. Sometimes a grief counselor is needed in a case like that. If the loved one died in a hospital, there are often social workers or other trained personnel who conduct grief groups at that facility or elsewhere.
