Ray brings up another good point.  Since PD is a "movement disorder," most
doctors seem to naturally tend to focus on the movement aspects of the
disease.  We have also seen a marked decrease in anxiety, along with better
mood,, reduction in pain, more focus and concentration, greater stamina,
better sleep quality -- just to name a few of the noticeable improvements
since DBS.  These can be huge quality of life issues and are benefits of the
surgery that are often overlooked.
