On voice - I found Darsie Bowden's challenge of the concept very useful and
for me persuasive since I resist the notion when it implies the discovery of
something essential in the self. The old memory problem - old having more
than one reference here - is getting in the way of details but the title is
Mythology of Voice. Our SFU library doesn't have a copy but I do, if you
should want to look at it, Rick.
Sorry I'm going to miss the discussion and seeing all of you who will be
there for the treats of Halifax, the feasts of talk and thinking, and the
laughter and music of Talent Night. I will be at a ball of a different kind
- we long ago committed to the annual Thistle Ball - a night of Scottish
country dancing complete with kilts and floor length gowns.
