Joao, As a teacher of college level Advanced Placement History classes in high school, I taught about the "Age of Faith" or the "Dark Ages" or the Middle Ages, the time between classical antiquity and the Renaissance. I never dreamed we would go back again, this time with evangelical Protestants. The learning of the Greek and Romans was almost all lost during this time of 1000+ years or more. What was kept was done by Christian monks in monasteries. St. Thomas Aquinas tried to reconcile Aristotle with the teachings of the Church, kind of like the creationism/evolution thing today. At least the Roman Catholic Church did preserve something and the Jesuits were no slouches intellectually. These evangelicals, in my opinion, are at the bottom of the intellectual barrel. Although religion helps divine right kings and other individuals, there are serious downsides to it.
