Gio,

What a wonder it is to be able to communicate with people all over the
world so easily.

You must have felt robbed at age 35. You seem quite young at 45 to
have had the DBS already. Did you have very bad tremors and other
symptoms? Which symptoms have been improved by the DBS? It must have
been strange to be awake for the whole proceedure.

I have a question for you, separate from Parkinsons: my wife has
Celiac disease, meaning she has a total intolerance to wheat. I've
heard that in Italy and other parts of Europe, there is a much higher
awareness level about diseases like Celiac. Here in the States,
people are just now starting to become more aware. I certainly had no
idea what Celiac disease was, before my wife's diagnosis. Is it true
that everyone is screened for Celiac at birth in Italy?

Congratulations on your success with DBS. Hope you don't mind my
'other' question.

Enjoy Spring!
Rick McGirr
