Good morning all!

Everyone is different in their response to drugs. My experience with
Stalevo has been that I saw no significant improvement when taking it. I am on
Sinemet 50/200 4 times a day. The Sinemet was beginning to wear thin before my
next scheduled dose so I asked my doctor for something that would enhance the
Sinemet effect. She prescribed Stalevo. After taking it for a few months,
I felt that my muscle pain seemed worse and I began to read more thoroughly
into the side effects of Stalevo...one of which was possible muscle pain.
When I went back to my doc for my 6 month appointment, I asked her if she
thought that the Stalevo could be causing an increase in my muscle pain. She said
she couldn't really answer that for certain but, she asked me if I felt that
it was effective in extending my "on" time....I said no, not really. Long
story short...I have quit taking the Stalevo.

Also:

(A) my doctor at Washington University Dept of Neurology feels that Stalevo
is an extremely expensive drug...he says we can take Sinemet and Compton as
separate pills for a fraction of the cost of Stalevo. We are paying big bucks
for the convenience of having both drugs in one tablet.

(B) Some drugs have a toxic effect on your liver and could do damage over a
prolonged period of time. Do your homework on the drugs you take and decide
(with your doctor's help) whether the benefits outweigh the risks.
