The judge in Kentucky had promised to give his ruling on reinstatement of GDNF treatment to the trial participants by today. In light of the results of the autopsy from the Bristol UK GDNF study - how can Amgen still claim that the GDNF infusions were not effective and that the improvement in the trial participants symptoms were due to placebo effects? The placebo effect cannot grow new brain cells. If Amgen is not willing to continue GDNF research, they should allow another company or researchers to do so, and reinstate treatment for the current trial participants in the meantime. They risked their lives for this study... they deserve the chance to get those lives back again.
