Barbara I have had PD for 3 years and was very depressed for a while when I was first diagnosed. The lexapro definitely added to my motivation and energy. I have probably been on it for 18 months. I tried many other drugs such as remeron(SP) but all except lexapro had side effects such as agitation that were bothersome. Evereyone is different and is at a different PD stage, but it works for me.
