David, I took medication one hour later after meal since I began to take PD medication one year ago. As your experience,there are two ways of medication taking,after-meal & before-meal. What kind of consideration to take,that the PD patient may decide to make choice ?? By the way,what kinds of protein food interfere the absorption ?? Some specific ones or all ?? Ting. Ting, Perhaps you should look at your timing. I was told by a nutritionist specialising in PD that l-dopa should not be taken immediately after eating protein. Take it one hour before, or not less than two hours after, a protein meal. Protein in the stomach interferes with absorption.
