Gerry,
The insurance situation is a nightmare for so many.
I think our government ought to be able to do better re health insurance for
all. One of the purposes of the Constitution was to "promote the general
welfare".   I just happened to luck out with LAUSD due to the union, which I
finally joined before our strike in the late '80's.  My family was always
anti-union.

I know there is a lot of fear of socialism in the political arena in the US.
Traveling throughout Scandinavia gave me a chance to see how well it worked,
probably because everybody is middle class.  Here there is the fear that
some lazy bum is going to benefit, but catastrophic illness can bankrupt
you.  Cures would be a lot cheaper.

The problem with advocacy is I strangle when I speak and have hands like
paws.  Don't know how much longer I can do it.
