I have recently been tentatively diagnosed by a neurologist as having the
beginning stages of Parkinson's - tremors in right hand and arm. Some feeling
of instability and awkwardness of gait (not observed by physician, but felt
by me daily as unsteadiness). What can I expect in the next 6 months to a
year. I have a followup appointment in November. At this point no meds have
been prescribed and not further diagnostic tests are on the horizon beyond the
original screening exam done in my first appointment. Is there a "typical"
progression of the disease, either in increased symptoms or time frame for
further deterioration of motor skills?
I first noticed the tremor in February of this year and visited the
neurologist on the advice of my primary care physician in late August. Any advice
would be helpful. Thanks
