People with Parkinson's (PWP) also may have a variety of other physical
problems.  Shortness of breath that makes the sufferers say that they think
they are dying may be a sign of cardiac disease.  Make sure that your
father's physician is aware of the symptom.  You may consider requesting a
cardiac work-up if the physician doesn't take the symptom seriously.

Although postural hypotension (a sudden, severe drop in BP when a person
stands) is a side effect of many Parkinson's  meds, sudden severe shortness
of breath is usually not an accompanying symptom.
