OK. I'm outta here. I can't really take anymore of this negativity and exaggeration. The godly people you are so quick to bash have given more unconditionally to the human race (including Parkinson's sufferers) in the form of money, care, goods and love than any atheist organization you can name. Yes, there are some who value human life right down to the DNA and I am sorry you don't understand that. But there are millions of godly people who want to see stem cell research - especially the adult type since that has garnered actual, quantitative results. I do understand you are suffering the indescribable horror of knowing what is happening to you and not having any hope of stopping the process. I can't feel your pain but I see it every day in my friend and hear it from others on this list. I pray every day for the researchers who work tediously each day to find a way to help you. Believe it or not, some of those are godly people, too. Probably a lot of them as they !
see nature at work every minute and know that it cannot be attributed to the work of any human or animal that ever existed in the universe.

Bill Maher's rant is ridiculous. He is probably one thinks as Louis Farrakhan does that George Bush turned Katrina towards New Orleans and them blew up the levy. For him to say the World Trade Center attacks were Bush's fault is just ignorant. Stop beating up of George Bush with the exaggerations. I doubt if Bill Maher or you, Ray, have ever spent time with the Bush family or even done research to actually find the facts about what he thinks. Yes, he does not agree with you about embryonic stem cell research but he is only part of the gov't. He is not the king. I don't agree with everything he says but even when Bill Clinton did so many idiotic things I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he bombed Iraq and screwed up Somalia and the Bosnia.

And....separation of church and state was instituted so that the state could not tell you what church to attend or what to believe. It does not mean ignoring God or ignoring the fact that our laws are based on the ten commandants as well as, I suppose, other historically codified rules like the Code of Hamarabi. (Sure I screwed up that spelling.) You cannot change history though many try to read whatever they like into the US Constitution. You cannot change the fact that this country was founded by Christians - not Muslins or Buddhists.

No one is telling you how to believe. You have the right to vote, protest, or do whatever you want as long as it doesn't harm others. You have the right to disagree and fight for what you think is right. You do not have the right to tell others what they must believe.

I am leaving this list. It was very helpful until the last couple of years when half of what I read is Bush bashing and hateful exaggerations about him. Again, he is only part of the government. He is trying to do what's best and if having troops in Iraq means the terrorists are not coming to our shores and that Sadam Hussein is finally locked up for good and his raping and pillaging are over then it's OK by me. He is not to blame for the hurricane or the ineptitude and corruption of Louisiana officials. Give it up-Bush is not God and cannot possibly cause all the harm you claim or do all the good you want him to do. Believe it or not, he did not give Parkinson's to you and he cannot take it away. The researchers can and no one has passed a law saying the research cannot be done. It is being done, though, most is privately funded. Things will change. Bush eased up on the Clinton admin. policy of no stem cell research. Change takes time and I realize, Ray, you don'!
t have much time and are trying to do what you can to change things for future sufferers. I applaud your efforts. However, no one is helped by all the Bush bashing and generalizing about those who believe in God.

I pray for you-all of you- though that might not make you happy. I pray that you will find some joy today. I pray that there will be many friends who will help you along the way. I pray that you will continue the good fight for a cure and I thank God you are out there trying to help one another. God bless you for all you do to help the cause. Just, please, save the hateful stuff for another forum.

Sorry, just got mad and got carried away with this response.
