Dear Abigail Young,

I am researching the extinct dodo, and in particular the specimens
brought over to Europe in the early seventeenth century. There is
mention of one such specimen, in the collections of the Anatomy School
at Oxford, which was donated by one William Gosling. Gosling is
mentioned in the Oxford REED as performing a play, "Hierusalem in it's
glory, destruction" in 1634. I was wondering whether anyone on the
REED-L might have any further information on Gosling, or any other
people linked with the dodo specimens in early seventeenth century
England. If you could maybe subscibe me or forward a message to the list
I would be most grateful.

Many thanks,

Joe Parish
