I'm just commenting that other accounts I have read  have stated that is not
the case.  I was curious to know if I had mis-understood.

Recently in the Detroit Free press, there was an article that stated that
Stem Cell researchers are making outrageous claims in order to get more
research money.

Can stem cells cure Diabetes, heal broken spinal cords, possibly reverse
PD??? Probably.  Those diseases  involve specific cells.  But to claim that
stem cells can heal a damaged brain - even to the most ardent supporters,
that must seem pretty far-fetched.
