Yep....it would seem that finding another neurologist is in order. Please
try to find a Parkinson's support group in your area - those folks will know
who the best movement disorder specialists are thereby saving you lots of
time and trouble.

Mirapex is a *very* touchy drug. It lowers blood pressure significantly
(your symptoms could be due to low BP), causes sudden sleep episodes and can
cause hallucinations. It is, however, an excellent drug for new onset PD
when properly titrated. My husband takes .375 mgm of Mirapex during the
course of the day. That dosage keeps away painful muscles spasms while
still serving as a mild anti-depressant. Any more Mirapex and he
hallucinates significantly. He has had PD for going on 26 years now, so
we're happy with any increase in function that we can get.

So....Mirapex might be the right drug for you at a much lower level.
However, you still need a neurologist to oversee your drug regiment and who
will return your calls and will help you get through those first days of
difficulty with the drug.

God bless
Mary Ann (CG Jamie 65/25 with PD)

your husband and i know you do, just because you took the time to respond. it
sounds like your husband has found a suitable therapy for the time being at
least. i hope he continues to be blessed. i will continue to put forth an
effort to find suitable medication. right now i am able to function with
minimal difficulty and staying busy helps tremendously. may god truly bless you and
