Miroslav Satan (pronounced Sha-tan') (I think he's Slovak) was one of
the Sabres' highest scoring and highest paid players for, I don't
know, maybe 5 years.  They dropped him and his salary before this
season, which follows a season completely cancelled by a
strike/lockout.  The Sabres have been mediocre since they last made
the finals in 1999.

When will they make the playoffs again?  The subject puts me in an
agnostic frame of mind...
