I'm in the mood to be philosophical this morning - maybe it's because I have
a cold and keep thinking about what it would be like to have Avian
flu.....anyway....

I think we continue to confuse God with nature.  God is pure spirit where
are Mother nature is *very* physical,  concrete - and, I might add, not very
nice.

When we are born into this world, bad things are bound to happen to us -
survival of the fittest is a very real fact of life.  As we age and our
immune systems fail, we get sick.  That's the way it is supposed to be so
that other healthy, vital folks can take our place.  That is the way it is
in all of nature as well  - the weak die while the strong survive and
continue to procreate.

So let us stop blaming God for making us imperfect.  We are supposed to be
that way - otherwise, we would live beyond the world's ability to support
us.  Some might make the argument that we are doing that already.
