I don't blame God for anything. I did not mention him.

I was addresing the scientific theory of intelligent design, whose
proponents insist that it is not a religion, and pointing out the
demonstrable fact that humans are not a product of intelligent design.

I'm in the mood to be philosophical this morning - maybe it's because I
have a cold and keep thinking about what it would be like to have Avian
flu.....anyway....

I think we continue to confuse God with nature. God is pure spirit
where are Mother nature is *very* physical, concrete - and, I might
add, not very nice.

When we are born into this world, bad things are bound to happen to us -
survival of the fittest is a very real fact of life. As we age and our
immune systems fail, we get sick. That's the way it is supposed to be
so that other healthy, vital folks can take our place. That is the way
it is in all of nature as well - the weak die while the strong survive
and continue to procreate.

So let us stop blaming God for making us imperfect. We are supposed to
be that way - otherwise, we would live beyond the world's ability to
support us. Some might make the argument that we are doing that
already.

God bless
Mary Ann (CG Jamie 66/26 with PD)
