Welllllll,
Marco, there has been a lot of discussion on what should and should
not be said on the list. When we last left that touchy subject, my
impression was that emotion is part of the field of self-expression,
and there are, of course, many strong emotions which course thru all
of us here. Why should we not be allowed to express them? After all,
without bitter, we would not appreciate sweet. I think Ray was
expressing her frustration with those in the US, who would halt many
kinds of research on moral grounds with which Ray and many others,
myself included, strongly disagree philosophically. They are a source
of stress for us. Maybe that's a bit personal, but it is valid, and
has directly to do with PD and efforts to find a cure. Opinions and
feelings need to be expressed. And I think if we don't continue the
philo-side of the debate, then it leaves out an important part of the
whole process of finding a cure, especially if that cure is ultimately
to come from one of the technologies which is controversial today.

Y'never know where the cure will come from, or when. I agree that the
other things you mentioned, such as the processed food we eat and the
contaminants in our environment, also have a profound effect on all
people. I think it will be found that cleaning up the earth and
watching very carefully what you injest are very important preventive
factors.

By the way, do you know of any PD treatment that has no side effects?

Enjoy Fall!
Rick McGirr
