Ray, If anyone is ' killing' anyone, it's ourselves for not seeking to identify the cause/s from which [true] effective therapies can be developed. This might even result in changes to Food processing, i.e. additives, or withdrawal of some anti-depressants, or an industrial plant might have to put in place better emissions systems, etc. Stem Cells, in my opinion, have a long way to go yet before I'm convinced of the safety and zero side effects. These 'groups' be they religious, ethical, or other, are not consciously killing us by what they're doing or saying; they're not against people with PD, or MS etc; and I would have to believe that statistically some of them may have a family member or friend with PD; they may even have PD. I would like to see an end to these emotive and subjective emails, which serve no purpose other than to perhaps upset and cause un-necessary stress for some 'listserv' members. I think we should put in place a plan, with key objectives, and include as many countries as possible. And put in place an effective Organisation [made up of PwP's and CG's only]. And that whatever findings/ papers etc. we produce be presented to [I think] a neutral body such as the World Health Organisation [WHO], Geneva. I believe that the only progress that will be made, will be made by us [PwP's] by taking control. We're far from dead Our individual 'Minds are the control centre of a living machine'. Even though in our case the fuel flow [dopamine] supply has been reduced thereby affecting the transport [legs] and gathering [arms] systems, the 'mind' [brain]is still 100% processing and learning; it will do whatever it can to survive. Some call this 'positive thinking', or 'mind over matter'. I say it's just simply getting on with life. If the combined minds of the Physicists at Los Alomos could produce the A-bomb [in less than a year, I think], anything i possible.
