(AP) Two of the nation's top government biologists are so worried about stem cell research funding that they're moving to Singapore instead of heading to Stanford University.

National Cancer Institute geneticists Neal Copeland and Nancy Jenkins were heavily recruited by Stanford's Institute for Cancer and Stem Cell Biology and Medicine.

But both scientists say they're concerned by delays in the allocation of billions in taxpayer funds allocated for stem-cell research.

Copeland and Jenkins will instead move to Singapore's Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology. They say Singapore's research programs face fewer restrictions than U-S programs.
