Jogi may walk, thanks to stem cell treatment

FORMER CHIEF Minister and current MP from Mahasamund Ajit Jogi is all set to come out of his wheelchair and bounce back into the political arena of the state if reports about his 'near miraculous' treatment by Delhi-based Dr Geeta Shroff, using embryonic stem cells, is any indication.
Jogi had suffered crippling injuries in a road accident and was lucky to have survived due to timely medical treatment. However, he did not come out of the road mishap unscathed.
He would have to be restricted to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. He was also suffering from breathing problems, had no control over his bladder and also had ulcer.
But, these handicaps did not curb his zest and determination. He was very much in the political fray. Just last fortnight, Jogi was busy lobbying with the party high command to secure a berth in the Union Cabinet.
According to reports, after undergoing embryonic stem cell treatment from Dr Geeta Shroff, Jogi can now get up from his wheelchair on his own. "The way I have been treated is a fascinating story. I received some shots from her (Geeta Shroff) and one after another, my organs made dramatic improvement. By the grace of God, I am almost normal,'' Jogi had told a Kolkata-based newspaper.
According to party spokesman Shailesh Trivedi, Jogi will be the State capital on Sunday, from where he will reach Bilaspur the same day to attend social functions. On Monday, he would be in Mahasamund and on Tuesday he would reach Dhamtari. Jogi would return to Delhi on November 23 by noon flight from Raipur, Trivedi said.
While he is in the capital, it would be known how successful his treatment has been.
