If I may step in for a moment to comment on this. Please note this is neither in support of or against ESCR. This is a comment on ethics. Ethics do count. Ethics should always be considered. The end does not justify the means even if it benefits PD sufferers or a specific political cause.

In a nut shell here is the problem... It is now and always has been considered by the entire world that selling body parts for transplants or experimentation is un-ethical. Monitoring the "Private Matter" of organ donation is essential to keep people donating. It is no an intrusion on their lives. It is monitoring the ethics of a valued program. Left un-monitored it would fail. The sale of donated embryo's may be considered to come under this by many. In any case experiments in this sensitive area must conform to established rules of ethics as do the doctors and the community conducting them. The ethics of this doctor and that community is in question because what he did was unethical by established standards.

You may consider it a sad day for ESCR but it is a sad day because of the un ethical behavior of this group and this doctor conducting experiments. NO he is not a fallen hero he is merely a doctor who acted unethically and considered the end justified the means. That my friends is just wrong.

Love to all

Theresa

That's what I say, Amanda, This is a sad day for so many who suffer not
only from disease, but a government that likes to intrude in people's
private business, Ray
