TENURE-STREAM POSITIONS IN PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION

Posted: December 1, 2005
Deadline to Apply: Tuesday January 31, 2006

The Professional Communication Department invites applications for two
tenure-track positions. Successful candidates will join colleagues in
the Professional Communication Department—a varied, interdisciplinary,
and expanding unit—to define the Department’s new strategic path within
the Faculty of Communication and Design, and the University.

Position 1: The successful candidate will have a PhD, experience in
teaching at the undergraduate level, ability to teach and supervise at
the graduate level, a well-defined research program, and experience in
curriculum development. Evidence of outstanding undergraduate teaching
and sophisticated contemporary curriculum development is sought.

Position 2: The successful candidate will have an outstanding
professional background at an advanced level in the field of
Professional Communication, an excellent university-level teaching
record, and an advanced academic degree. Candidates with superior
professional and teaching credentials and at least a Master’s degree
will be considered. A PhD in progress or a commitment to undertake one
would be a definite advantage.

Please apply in writing, including a curriculum vitae, sample
publication, statement of teaching philosophy, and copies of transcripts
to: Dr. Susan Cody, Chair of the Professional Communication Department,
Ryerson University, 350 Victoria Street, Toronto, Ontario, M5B 2K3.
Although the position will remain open until it is filled, to ensure
consideration, please apply by January 31, 2006.

Ryerson University has an employment equity program and encourages
applications from all qualified individuals, including Aboriginal
peoples, persons with disabilities, members of visible minorities and
women. Members of designated groups are encouraged to self-identify. All
qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and
permanent residents will be given priority.
