Some street level data: I switched from Mirapex to Requip because Mirapex demanded that I go to sleep in the middle of the day. I wasn't on Mirapex long enough to suffer long-term side effects, but I've been on Requip for over two years, I think, and my current dosage is a bit above the normal max - I take 30 mg per day. This is because I was trying to do without Sinemet, which I did for about 9 months before I caved in. When I started Sinemet, the doctor left the Requip at the same level, because I tolerate it well and also to try to get the max benefit from it. Other than your run of the mill extreme depression, which no longer has a stranglehold on my psyche, and difficulty dealing with smoking cessation, I'm doing well, with no sign of O/C behavior. You might say, and I might agree, that I might not be prone to O/C, however, as a musician prone to chronic practicing, some element of perfectionism might be present. Maryse, your post was the first that I had heard of Requip giving people the same gambling urges as Mirapex. Did I miss something? Enjoy winter!
