Want to visit beautiful East Tennessee in the early spring? Want to put
names to faces? Want to bring the entire family for a relaxing yet exciting
weekend? THEN THIS IS IT!

APDA Young Onset Retreat Townsend, TN March 16-17-18

*Sponsored by the American Parkinson's Disease Association Support Groups of
Alabama, Louisiana, North Florida, Mississippi, & Tennessee
Carla Cothran, Caryn Crenshaw, & Brenda Allred (APDA Nurse Coordinators)

Due to hurricane damage, the APDA Young Onset Parkinson's Retreat (held in
the past in Ocean Springs, MS), is scheduled for Townsend, TN; Thurs. March
16 thru Sun. March 19 (3 nights).

Townsend in NE Tennessee, is near Knoxville, where you would fly into
McGhee-Tyson Airport. If driving, Townsend is about 600 miles from Ocean
Springs. This beautiful, peaceful area is located at the entrance to the
Great Smokey Mountains. Just moments away is Cades Cove,
(www.nps.gov/grsm/gsmsite/cadescove ) the most visited area of the national
parks. Visit the Cove which is full of nature and history, and such
recreational activities as camping and fishing. There's also a lush 18-hole
golfcourse in Townsend, Laurel Valley Golf ( www.laurelvalleygolf.com/golf
). Or drive a short distance to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, home of Dollywood
Theme Park, Ripley's Aquarium, and numerous other family activities, not to
mention some great shopping, candy & craft shops!)

Plans are to stay at Best Western Valley View Lodge (see website for
amenities www.valleyviewlodge.com ). There will be times to socialize, water
aerobics at the indoor pool, a possible hayride, a pie eatin' contest, and
other adult and family activities, culminating in a Hillbilly Hoedown on
Saturday night (ya'll bring yer overalls!).

*Costs: If donations and grants play into this retreat, accommodations will
be funded, as well as food. However, if you are able to pay a small fee of
$40 per person (cap of $150 per family), this will help offset expenses.

You will need to **MAKE YOUR OWN RESERVATIONS**: Mention Young Parkinson
Weekend to get the group rate. Let us know if you need a scholarship.
