So.....we are supposed to go about fusing any animal life form with human life forms just to get a cure for any and all diseases without considering that just maybe we might be fusing together viruses that could destroy us all. Or how about discovering that a rabbit with human genetic material just might be birth to something more human that rabbit. Is that OK??? I love the line in Jurassic Park that says, "life will always find a way." What we create today in petri diseases might bring tomorrows catastrophic results. There was a large article in the Sunday New York Times magazine that devoted considerable discussion to this issue. Believe it or not, all scientists are not comfortable with chimeras. There are ethical and very practical issues involved here that require thoughtful consideration. ---------- Mary Ann Ryan (CG Jamie 66/26 with PD) -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
