Dear Ray,
I don't think we will have to learn Chinese. Progress in stem cell research
will be shared out of necessity since the restoration of degraded human
cells already is the focus of curing chronic disease in biotech research,
and break-throughs are coming at an enormous pace. As the Chinese have
little respect for patent infringement, the scientists of other countries
will appropriate the Chinese discoveries. The Catholic Church tried to
suppress the insights of Copernicus, and yet we have NASA. Look how
Bible-thumpers tried to suppress the insights of Darwin, and yet we have the
wonderful cornicopia of biological sciences. Stem cell research offers the
hope of cures for heart disease, cancer, MS, PD, etc. Given that even the
fact that even the most religious go to the hospitadl to protect their
mortal existence, you might meet Pat Robinson on the line at Stem Cell
clinic. David
