Amanda, the pro-life guy I was debating and whose position I have posted
told me "good luck with the courts forcibly seizing embryos" when I asked
him where he stood on IVF clinics. I told him nobody ever suggested
forcibly seizing embryos, that it was the prerogative of the donor couple
whether to destroy them, give them up for "adoption" by another couple,
freeze them in perpetituity or donate them for research. He really tried to
avoid the issue, I thought. I just don't think people really thought this
thing through when they started IVF. Like your sister-in-law said, "what
surplus"?

He also didn't like me calling blastocysts blobs of undifferentiated cells
telling me I was basing that observation on "intuition" not science. I
checked out his references and could not find where it said a blastocyst was
"a" human being. "Human life" was referenced and the 2nd source referred to
"personhood" coming much later I couldn't open the 3rd one, but there was no
mention of SCNT or ANT. Leaves me wondering about date of these sources
