Laureen has never taken extremely high doses of medication, compared to some
other PDers we know. For most of her PD tenure, she played it safe with meds,
delaying the point at which the side effects of medication would become less
tolerable than the PD itself. She eventually did reach the latter point,
however, which is why Dr. Grinstein's program appealed so much to her.

Since being on RG-40 and other extracts, she has, over the past 8 months or
so, been able to reduce her Sinemet (the only PD drug she takes) to two doses
of 10/100 daily. (That's a reduction of over 50 percent.)

Since being on the extracts, however, she has developed (to mention the top
two) the PD shuffle and lip tremors (neither of which either of us had noticed
over the 8 years or so prior to the extract program). Now, one will say that
the aforementioned symptoms are to be expected in a PD patient. I'm sure that
many of our list members endure them regularly. The point is, these symptoms
emerged or became exacerbated since taking extracts. Laureen's take on the
situation is that the symptoms are due to her reduction in meds, not because
she's taking the extracts.

In John's case, how much RG-40 (how many grams) did he find to be equal to
what dosage of Sinemet?
