Best, Anne. ---------------------------- POST DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP Post Doctoral Fellowship: 1 July 2006 to 30 June 2007. 36 hours a week on REED civic London volumes (see below); salary range $33,000. to $36,000. (Cdn.). Supervisor: Professor Anne Lancashire, English Dept., University of Toronto; editor, Records of Early English Drama (REED): civic London. Location: Toronto, Canada: supervisor’s project office at University College, and library use as necessary. Responsibilities: all required tasks, as assigned, in preparing the London civic volumes for publication. E.g., computer-coding and formatting of records, finding and checking references and dates, proofreading, researching and writing explanatory notes, searching/checking primary sources, bibliographical searches, secondary reading, wordprocessing, and other academic duties as required. Minimum qualifications: completed Ph.D., with historical focus, in medieval or early modern period in England. Good background in history, attention to detail, excellent proofreading skills, quick and accurate in secondary reading. Basic computer skills, basic Latin. Analytical, flexible, reliable; independent worker who also functions well as a team member; demonstrated ability to meet schedules and deadlines. Ability to read medieval and early modern hands/manuscripts, and/or greater than basic Latin skills, both pluses. Editing experience a strong asset. Strong oral and written communication skills. If not Canadian or a landed immigrant, must have appropriate documents permitting work in Canada. Closing date for applications: 28 April 2006 or until position is filled.
