Carol,
I taught in East LA and the Wilmington LA Harbor area and we had a great
educational program for inner city kids.

My students passed college level AP history exams and are successful
professionals with advanced degrees themselves, plus they are good people
who have a strong sense of civic responsibility. One is doing PD research.

Private schools don't require degrees or credentials and the pay is even
worse than in the public schools. I don't think you're necessarily going to
get a better education there.

We need to support our public schools, especially in math and science,
Ray
