I believe the reason that ASCs are not being used to treat PD, a la Dr.
Levesque, is that the procedure is to darn difficult (read Costly).  Dr.
L took a biopsy from Turner's brain, filtered out the few neural stem
cells, and cultured them for 9 months in order to have enough to
transplant into Turner's brain.

Dr. L said in 04, and I believe earlier, like 02, that he was preparing
a phase 2 study.  Well, 4 years later, his web page states that the
study is on hold by the FDA until he has a processing system that meets
GMP (good manufacturing procedures).  His company is either low on cash,
or he is finding it very difficult to meet GMP, or he figures that not
many will pay the big bucks to have the procedure done on them,
considering it may only last 4 years more or less.
