Accountabilities: * Tutoring undergraduate and graduate students one-on-one. * Identifying, assessing, and responding to writing problems at both the undergraduate and the graduate level. * Developing and teaching workshops on various aspects of academic writing. * Developing and delivering discipline-specific workshops at the request of faculty for a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses. * Developing instructional material for the writing centre program in collaboration with other writing centre staff. * Assisting the manager in developing and delivering the tutor training program. * Administering and editing the writing centre webpage and looking after promotion of the Writing Centre. * Assisting the manager with the general administration of the Writing Centre and administering the centre in the manager's absence. Qualifications: * A master's degree in English, rhetoric, linguistics or equivalent and 6 months experience teaching writing at the University level. * Excellent teaching and presenting skills. * Excellent analytical and research skills. * Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills. * Excellent organizational and time management skills. * Excellent team working skills * Ability to use a variety of software including web editing.
