bob benjamin has put a whole new face on the person whom we usually think of as pd fundraisers. they always seemed to me to balding elder gentlemen in tuxedos and blue-haired elder ladies in ball gowns and pearls. (this perception was permantly fixed in my brain 10 years ago while looking at the Bob Hope-type galas that were held) snd God bless 'em for all of their generosity and hard work. but then came MJFox and the entire population had to change it's perception of pwp's to include all the early onsets, and bob also has the ability to change people's perceptions. his light of day concerts are legendary. i have had the great honor and the privledge of attending two of them and let me tell you this: bob has made it cool to be an activist and has turned the hip, middle aged and even the younger crowd into believing that a cure is not only possible but that it is attainable. at the last LOD concert, i was sitting next to bob backstage at the Stone Pony. no matter how big of a star came thru the door, that star made his/her way thru the packed house to pay homage to this unassuming, gentle, kind, dyskinishic godfather of the rock n rolls scene. he has always been a hero to me and an inspiration. congrats, bob. you justly deserve this award!! -- Joan Blessington Snyder 54/14 [log in to unmask] http://www.pwnkle.com/jes/jes_web/index.htm “Hang tough……..no way through it but to do it.” Chris in the Morning Northern Exposure ---------------------------------------------------------------------- To sign-off Parkinsn send a message to: mailto:[log in to unmask] In the body of the message put: signoff parkinsn
