a small point - according to a recent BBC program (I haven't got round to checking) a chimera is merely a mix of two sets of DNA, maybe from the same species. They presented 2 women who were said to carry the DNA of 2 people each, due to being a re-fusion of Siamese twins during early development - both looked normal but were apparently unable to prove a genetic relationship to their own children.
