The members of the TEDDY BEAR GANG have made a personal commitment. They have no deductions or benefits such as known charities claim. What the TBG has chosen to do is to give without expecting anything in return. For some it has been a definite personal financial struggle.
Since 2002, the TBG has given well over 300 Teddy Bears to qualified RECIPIENTS. Were it possible, everyone involved in PD and its branches would receive Teddy Bears. Unfortunately that isn't possible at this time. However, if you know someone you feel is deserving who may qualify for TB's, please feel free to recommend. At present, the TBG has a waiting list. Additions are made to the list every day.
To recommend someone for Teddy Bears, the following apply:
1. ANONYMITY is vital. We protect RECIPIENT'S privacy. This is not something the POTENTIAL RECIPIENT should even be aware of.
2. DATA must be supplied: name, address, phone number (delivery requires phone #)
3. EXPLANATION: Why do you think this individual/family should receive TB's? Look at the PD world. What makes your RECIPIENT more deserving than someone else's?
Once accepted the TBG will vote on your RECIPIENT. RECIPIENTS can be your neighbors, friends, Support Group members, etc.
The TEDDY BEAR GANG is an independent entity unrelated to any organization. We have, however, attempted to monitor CARE, THE PUBLIC DISCUSSION FORUM, PIEN AND THE SACRAMENTO VALLEY PARKINSON'S ASSOCIATION.
