Antibiotics are exactly that: anti-life.  They kill all bacteria in the body,
including beneficial flora.  That's why many professionals recommend
replenishing those beneficial bacteria *after* being on antibiotics, by
consuming high-quality yogurt.  Intestinal flora (the beneficial bacteria) do
enhance absorption of nutrients and medications through the intestinal wall,
as any first-year university biology student usually learns.  Someone on
antibiotics usually has very small stools, since approximately 50 percent
(according to my microbiology texts, and former professors) of the solid
matter in a healthy stool is bacteria.   For what it's worth....  Scott
