Angioplasty should have no effect on your PD. It is a relatively short procedure and only requires that you lay flat for 6 hours to prevent bleeding at the needles insertion site. If you have severe dyskinesia it is probably best not to take Sinemet during that six-hour period because excessive movement might cause bleeding to occur. It is always important that your neurologist be part of the team that over-sees your health at this time - make sure that he/she is on-board. My husband had angioplasty and then bypass surgery in 2002. His neurologist made sure that the medications he needed to function would be administered as soon as it was safe post-op and that the pain meds he received were well tolerated. There are a host of pain medications that can cause loss of function in a PWP. Good luck and let us know how you do, George. ------------- God bless Mary Ann (CG Jamie 66/26 with PD) www.bentwillowfarm.org ----- Original Message ----- From: "George Person" <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Thursday, August 03, 2006 6:37 AM Subject: Angioplasty and PD > Hello all, > I wonder if someone can help me by answering a question ... > I am scheduled for a coronary angioplasty on this Friday PM - If anyone > who > has PD has had this procedure I would appreciate a response on if it is > any > more difficult when you have PD. > Anything to look out for?
