The DBS surgeries were very successful in controlling tremor (at the expense
of losing my voice, I think).  Difficulty walking, using my hands didn't
improve but it is hard to say what I'd be like 3 years later without it.  I
don't take any PD meds.  DBS has a wide range of failure/success from brain
infections and no help at all to almost  getting your life back and/or
reduction of meds. My ocular migraines stopped after the DBSs.  Last year I
fell twice but that seems to have ceased although I do still have balance
problems.
