Bill, I don't post very often, but read the posts when I can. I was diagnosed with PD in l998. I think I was very fortunate to have an observant neuron-surgeon who saw it very, very early. He prescribed Amantadine and Parlodel. I took those meds for almost 5 yrs and they kept everything under control until about 3 yrs ago when I stopped taking those two and started a low dose of Sinemet. A yr later they added Requip. I've always heard Amantadine is typically used as an anti-viral medication. Somewhere along the way a connection was made with PD. I had no side effects from it. The Parlodel was much harder to adjust to. It caused extreme nausea and some mild hallucinations (nothing frightening and I always knew they weren't real). Over time those side effects went away. I am curious if you have tried other meds to supplement the Sinemet. It does seem unusual to add Amantadine after Sinemet. Best of luck to you.
