Success for Parkinson's Research Funding!Take Action!
Parkinson's Community Wins Department of Defense Research Funding

CONGRATULATIONS! The Department of Defense's (DoD) Parkinson's research
program -- the Neurotoxin Exposure Treatment Research Program (NETRP) which
was created to investigate the causes, diagnosis, and treatments of
Parkinson's disease -- has received $26.5 million for next year. This
funding level is a $3.5 million increase from last year. The funding has
passed both the House and Senate in the spending bill for the Department of
Defense. President Bush is expected to sign the bill soon.
We are delighted that this important program, thanks to your efforts,
received an increase in funding. This is a huge victory and could not have
been accomplished without your hard work!
