From what I've read, those cell lines were developed from *2* fetuses, both
of which had been aborted - neither of which had been destroyed to construct
those cell lines.  Since these cells continue to grow there is no need to
harvest further diploid cells.

This is entirely different issues from stem cells being harvested from
multiple viable embryos specifically for research purposes.
