Dear Fellow List Members:

Every day I wake up to tens of emails that inform me about stem cell research and the politics of stem cell research. Throughout the day I get more. And if they are not there, I get upset. What has happened to Diane Wyshak, I'm worrying. Where is she? So I rely on another behind-the-scenes person like "bj" to help me track her down. Whew!!! She's visiting family and will return soon to the computer she uses so well to keep us knowledgable and in touch with others, such as Don C. Reed in CA, involved in the fight for cures.

Diane transmits tons of info, pro and con, in order to try to get us all on the same page and educated about the issues. She takes on this monumental task for her children, grandchildren, and son-in-law who has Type 1 diabetes. So if you've enjoyed or been informed by any of my news posts - well, they all come courtesy of Diane.

The PIENO site is not the only one to benefit from Diane's efforts. She promotes other sites such as stemcellaction.org, stemcellbattles.com and by sending articles to Steve Meyer who posts them on StemCellInformation at Yahoo groups so that people there know what is going on. She has enabled me many times to rebut the lie that adult stem cells are successfully treating Parkinson's disease.

She has worked with a legal group that was instrumental in passing stem cell research legislation in Massachusetts. In the current critical election cycle, she has made it her mission to inform political candidates in the primaries and the general election about stem cell research. She has made it possible for us to access educational videos and to contribute to political campaigns in states other than our own.

In this "Information Age" we are fortunate to have someone on our side who can keep us up-to-date and involved with issues that affect our lives. Although Diane protests that she "just transmits information" it is the source without which advocacy would be impossible.

The more I learn about what our List members are doing on our behalf, the more upbeat I become. If we don't win in November it will not be because people like Diane didn't try. Thank you, Diane, for keeping hope for cures alive.

Ray
