That day was unusual, the norm is more like 4-5 hours on then off 1-2 and back on 3-5. I try to do some sort of exercise in the morning for about an hour before taking any meds, they seem to work better after the exercise, just walking up and down the stairs for a half hour is enough.. I have the same food problems others talk about, a big meal of any kind will shut me down with in 1 - 2 hours, I've become a nibbler, small snacks all day, a more normal meal about 2-3 hours before going to bed. I've been on just about every drug at one time or another. What seems to work best for me (this not a recommendation) is a combination of sinemet, sinemet CR, comtan and parcopa. I fne taking smaller doses of the meds more often, limits the dyskenesia problem.

  Alan,
I have had PD since 1988, age 35, now age 52, and I agree generally
with your interpretation of "On" and "Off". What I would like to know is
what medication regime are you on that gives you 12 straight hours "On" ?
That is remarkably good, the best I can achieve, on 3 doses a day, is 2 and
a half to 3 hours per dose, decreasing to 1 hour per dose with plenty of
unpleasant dyskenesia inbetween doses.

Best Wishes,
Nigel Harland
