Your input is very helpful. I use to think my on and off period and connection to food intake was unique to me. What I find interesting is her off period of 3 hours is exactly the same as mine. One thing I have found helpful is nibbling on crackers. Where ever I go I have a few crackers in my pocket, I’ll eat one every 15 – 20 minutes. Sometimes I won’t go off at all after a meal or my off time may cut down to 90 -120 minutes. I found the email posted a few days ago about glucose most interesting.

Here is something you may want to try. If your wife is off have her lie flat on the floor, Try straightening her head, neck, and upper back, try and relaxing her neck and pull her chin in. If you can get the neck to pop or crack she maybe able to come back on almost immediately. You can also try laying on the floor, stomach down, fold your arms in front of you, and rest your forehead on your arms, sometimes the neck will pop. The poping doesn't always work, but I have found it to be helpful.

No any type of food will stop her medication from working, even one biscuit. A large meal with meat will mean her she will be switched off for maybe three hours, and of course after that she is absoultly drained of energy.
On an empty stomach with at least 120ml of water she is more or less ok, but of course nothing in PD is so straight forward.
We hope to go on Apomorphine injections next year, which will get around the meal problem.
Her medication at the moment consists of: 8x125mg Madopar, 4 Entacapone, 2x250micrograms of Pergolide and 1x1.25mg Zelapar.
Mild dyskinesia's if her medication works too quickly or is exicited. I think a dose of happiness help a lot.

Don't know if this is of interest to anyone but, what the hell!!

Merry Christmas to all on the forum and hope for a cure next year.

Alan of Ardersier.
